Received call from one of the 2 short listed childcare center on 21 Oct 10 – First Skool @ Bedok. It opening on 01 Nov 10 for its first batch of students. Was actually quite surprise that we got a placement as we registered online quite late (late Sept). We originally decided on another school nearby. But after reconsideration on transport issue n other arrangements, we decided on the cc that is just opposite my inlaws’ place instead. Xuan’s class (Playgroup) is actually quite small – 5 kids. Guess, the rest of the kids by the time of this group age have alrdy been enrolled in other school. N the parents prefer to let them stay in the cc that they are used to?? Whatever the reason, it still good news for us. Lesser kids mean lesser germs spreading? Then Xuan will have more time to get used to some germs b4 interacting with even more germs from a lot more kids? Also, with smaller class, the teacher will be able to give more attention to the kids. As this is Xuan first cc, she of course need more “attention” to get use to the cc life?

Guess, the only negative pt was that guobin will be away again on business trip in India during Xuan 1st wk in cc. First 3 days were orientation, so only half day at the school. Thurs was suppose to be a full day, but as I hv to be at home to receive delivery for furniture, I brought her home after half day. Fri was public holiday. So no school for Xuan.

Xuan took to cc life much better than we expected…. Of course, during the first few days, she was sticky to me, but at least, she was willing to “detach” me when there activities that interest her is goin on, such as playing with toys n story telling. She was willing to join in the group, as long as I am within her reach n sight…. After companying her for couple of hours for her to get used to the environment, I sneak off to near by market for my brunch. On the first day, when I came back, I was told that she refuse to let the teachers to bath her or have her meal… so I had to company her teacher while she give Xuan her bath. After her bath, I have to feed her lunch. The amount given was v much smaller portion than her usual. But cos she still not used in the cc, thus I didn’t insist on her eating more after she finish her plate. Think once she get used to the cc, she will get her appetite back n will request for more automatically? After the meal, it free playing for awhile, before the guardians start bringing the kids home.

For second day, pretty much the same, except for this round, Xuan allow the teacher to bath her after crying for me for awhile while I out for my meal…. Good sign… shows that she starting to accept the teacher liao…. Think she particularly like her young Malay teacher who was playing with her the day before.

For third day, she was even more initiative in join the class for their activities.

Everynite, when I asked her if she want to go to school to play, she will always reply yes. N be repeating “school school” for awhile. So instead of the “wailing” of adjustin to school like that we were expecting, we were pleased n glad that her adjustment to school was very smooth.

After guobin was back for his trip, he resume his “duties” to send Xuan to cc first b4 sending me to work. Originally, Xuan always cry loudly when I send her to the cc… after awhile, we realize that she only do so if I was the one sending her to cc… if guobin was the one, she will guai guai enter the cc without cryin… guess she used to having me sending her n companying her in the cc, that she expect me to stay with her when I send her to the cc…. so, for now, when guobin around, he be the one sending her to cc while I stay in the car to wait…. Sigh… but at least, xuan will kiss me goodbye first b4 being carried off by her daddy…..

Since my family will be away on a short trip for massagin at batam, we didnt go make the usual trip to my parents place for one of the wkend. instead, we brought xuan to east coast for a taste of natural environment... =p
Was pretty fun, but XUan was much pretty tanned by the hot sun.. made the mistake of lettin wearing too expose... although she dosent sweat alot.. but there also not much cloth to cover her,, thus she was pretty browned the next few days/..

N she also dun like the sea.. she refuse to go near the sea, even when she wanted to refill her container... she will push guobin to go n take instead... as for sand... she b rubbing the sand off her hand every after a while.... she really a clean freak.. much more than her virgo parents.... -_-"








I try to make it a point to bring Xuan to the Zoo annually. So we choose the Public holiday to bring her to the zoo, as guobin dun have that much leave left to take a day off from the wkdays... Went with my sis n brother-in-law. Not bad for the mornin... but was raining in the afternoo, so we cut our trip short n went to causeway pt for the later part of the day instead...

Oct 1st week, Guobin went Germany for working trip. I took the whole wk leave as I didn’t want to be caught in the morning working rush after walking 30 mins to MIL place to drop off Xuan. Bside, I still have some leave left to clear, might as well use it to cmpy Xuan. My aim for the week is to potty train Xuan during the day time. Sadly, I didn’t achieve the target…..

But during this wk, was really tired from taking care of her alone for 24/7… Daily routine would be:/
0800 - 0830 – Wake up Xuan to change out of diaper, drink milk. Cooked rice for lunch n dinner
0830 - 1130 – Watch shows with Xuan. Stealing naps in between while she is playing with her toys n watchin TV.
1130 - 1200 – Cook lunch for both Xuan n myself.
1200 - 1230 – MSN with Guobing
1230 - 1330 – Feed Xuan
1330 - 1400 – Watch TV or playing in her room (depending on her mood)
1400 - 1430 – Bath Xuan.
1430 - 1700 – Xuan Napping time. Do some cleaning up. Then follow Xuan to her Zzzz land…
1700 - 1800 – Prepare Dinner and feed Xuan her dinner
1800 – 1815 – Cleaning up
1815 – 1930 – Bring Xuan to playground
1930 – 2030 – Back home to watch shows or playing in her room
2030 – 2045 – Milk time
2045 – 2100 – Bath Xuan
2100 – 2115 – Put Xuan to sleep.

Of cos, in between, hourly to bring Xuan to toilet. N to clean up when she pee on the sofa or “all around” the house…..

Originally, tot of bringing Xuan out to jalan jalan while I home for the week. But the pregnancy really makes me too tired. Just the daily routine is already making me long for my bed in the night….. But I finally brought her out on Fri. Tampines Library in the morning.


Noon time at Tampines 1 for lunch n settling down to MSM with Guobing. After lunch, we enjoyed a cup of McFlurry while walking around at the interchange to find a digital portable clock for Guobin. Xuan finally fall asleep in her stroller while we walked towards Tampines mall. When she was napping, I took the opportunity to find a suitable children toilet seat (tat can be affixed on adult seats). Cos if she is awake, I be definitely be too busy to look out that she does not break any stuffs.

Finally found a suitable one with the budget n design I was looking for in Kiddy Palace. Since walking for the whole morning n afternoon, was also very tired, so sat down to rest while waiting for Xuan to wake up.

Met up with my frens for dinner soon after she wakes up…

When Guobin return from his trip, was really glad that I can shift half of her tantrums n stickness to him.... =p

While browsing thru newspaper, saw the advertisement for iLights @ Marina Bay. Looks interesting. So brought Xuan to c the lights. V tiring for both of us... but v interesting for Xuan.. she was so happy during the trip that even though she alrdy look obviously exhausted, she refuse to sit in her stroller n rest/nap/sleep.. instead she keep running/walking abt to touch here n there... In the end, Guobin have to scold her til she cry badly for her to sit in her stroller while we continue to make our way back to Central (where we park our car)...

Another major event in Oct will be Xuan enrolement to "My First Skool". =)

Received a call from them on 21 Oct to ask if we b interested to start school in 1st Nov. Although the date was much earlier than we expected (Jan 11), we decided to go ahead n let Xuan start her "school life"....

Updates for Jul to Sep 10

Playing hugging on the bed. Also made some pandan chiffon cake for Xuan. She suddenly developed a liking for bread in the morning. Will ask me for my "Bonjour - Butterscotch" bread. She could finished half a piece even straight after her 180ml of milk. But it only lasted a wk plus. Thereafter, she stopped wanting the bread. So we increased her milk intake to 240ml instead... =p


Liling had bought this bunny hairband for quite awhile. But was unsucessful in making Xuan wearing it. But after abt a mth of trying. she finally "pian dao" Xuan to wear it from her waist, n slowly to her head. But it a one time success only. No matter how she tempt Xuan later on, Xuan refused to wear it a 2nd time liao.....


Guobin army frens jio to have a breakfast gathering session at East Coast Park. Guobin says that they would b bringing their wifes along, so i went along with Xuan. But to our surprise, none of them bring their other half.... =( Cos they were planning to ride bicycles or to run after the session.... Since i pregnant, activities is out for me... n since i out, guobin also have to forgo n bring me home to rest instead as i was still suffering v much from the preggy.... opps....


Xuan really likes music n beats... while watchin the NDP n YOG tel broadcast, she was so excited at hearing the sounds. she even started to improvised her own drum from her toys... Seeing her actions, i went n dig out her old drum (actually shld b new, but she didnt want to play it then, left it in a corner for spiderwebs, so i kept it away).... she was so happy when she start banging on the drum... Too bad, the recording was in video, thus there no pic to show her playing in the log... only of her dancing in the beginning.


Xuan first haircut!!! actually it more of a trim..... but this was the first time she having her hair trim at a salon.... $20 for a little trim at the fringe.... not v obvious..... mayb should have cut it short to make the money worth? LOL... but i was worried she look too boyish after it, so i choose to trim instead of snipping off her locks.... She behave better than i expected... although she kept crying or sniffin... she was at least willing to sit properly at the chair while sometimes viewing the barney vcd show that was infront of her.....


Some random shows of her in Aug 10. While shopping for a 1yr old gift for a fren daughter, we let xuan choose a plushie from the kiddy palace. of cos, she chose her "mouse mouse".... Minnie Mouse....



Saw the advertisement for the RSW's theatrical circus show - "Voyage De La Vie", was interested, but found the pricing was over my comfort zone, so decided to forgo.. But later found a seller selling the tickets at abt 50% of the original price, so i bought the tickets as a celebration for our birthdays.. =) The show was interesting. But the skills of the performance to justify the high admission price, personally, i dun find it worth. But since i bought the tickets at a v much discounted price, I was still ok to take it as an experience.... =p
We went much earlier (by the free shuttle bus), as we tot after exploring RSW, we could walk to sentosa beach for xuan to play... but due to my condition,,, after juz walking out to the nearest attraction, the merlion from the RSW, i was alrdy too tired n keep vommiting.. then we decided to have guobin continue to bring her to the attractions, but xuan refuse to continue walkin ahead with guobin alone.. Seeing me sitting at the seats instead of following them, she start crying n keep hanging to me.... Thus, we decided to turn back to RSW n rest instead.... While resting... xuan start to follow two little girls.. dancing n chasing each other at the foyer.... at least she enjoy herself although we didnt bring her to the sentosa attraction as planned..... =p


Had a gathering at our place during hari raya holiday... was surprised when my CLS mates bought quite alot of food to have a mini birthday celebration for three of us who r born in sep... me on 11/9, guobin n jiali on 12/9. surprisingly, xuan took a much shorter time than anticipated to warm up to them... she had a great time playing with them also... hahah



Went to the "He Pang" - lantern festival at @Central. Saw the advertisement keep running for a few days in the Straits Times. But was disappointed when we reached there... wasnt as magnificent as we imagined.... mayb bcos we compared it to the last time we went to Chinese Garden where the view was nicer, display were bigger...
Xuan wasnt v interested in most of the display either...... only sho interest when she saw lantern in fish shape and the Dragon zodiac display....

Xuan is goin to be elder sister!!

Have mixed feelings about this pregnancy. While we have planned for it, but with the previous miscarriage experience, I also dreaded n keep worrying if this will be a successful pregnancy. In the first trimester, alrdy been scared 3x. =(

#1 - Jux after the test strips start to show positive result, started having cramps. The cramps were similar to those while I was pregnant the second time. Worried that I may have early MC again. When scanned, could only c the thickening linning of the uterus, indicating possible early pregnancy. Dr Khi was quite confident that since the test strip alrdy show positive result, i shld b pregnant. To play safe, was given dusphaston to strengthen the pregnancy. Although was given 2wks mc to rest well, i choose to go back to work as the cramps ceased to be that often n painful the nxt day.

#2 - On my wk 7, while restin at home, started spotting. have not experienced it while having Xuan or even during M/C. immediately went back to the clinic, n was relief to c the blinking of bb's heartbeat during the scan. But there was a blood clot under the waterbag - the reason for the spotting. It is not confirmed of why it formed. may b bcos the sac did not attached properly to the utereus, leaving some gap in between. Thus when too much of movement will caused friction, n thus bleeding. So more rest n increased dosage of dusphaston is given....

#3 - Wk 8. Ordered city satay delivery. Ate about 10pcs of the ready to eat satay. feel a little weird.. tot was bcos of naseau acting up. so went to lie down n rest. But after a couple of hrs later, started to throw everything out. Much worse than my usual bout... Vomit with so much force that my tummy hurts. n the throat sting from the yellow bile acid. wasnt sure the vomit was due to food poisoning or the MS... so decided to rest at home n give it a nite to monitor... wasnt able to get any fluid in. After drinking water, ribena, milo, etc, within a few seconds, all come out. n even more yellow bile follows.... Continue till the next day, GB was worried n applied time off from his work to come back n bring me to c the gynea. Given drip and after observation at the clinic, went back home to rest.
Despite my physical condition... bb was still growing well.. water in the waterbag is also sufficient.

As for Xuan response to this pregnancy... hmmm... many asked if she was more sticky. Tat v hard to say, cos she was alrdy very sticky to me way before i conceived.... So could only say she remain as such. =p

First time being sicked from transmitted virus.....

This post was written in Jul 10. But due to unforseen uncircumstances, the post wasnt published and forgotten til today (26 Sep 10) when i finally log in again to update.......

"Xuan started showing sypmtons when she vomited her lunch on sat (26 Jun). On sun, she didnt hv appetite. Lunch was half her usual portion. After her nap, she ask for food. But shortly after finishin the cookies, she vomited all out again. Dinner intake was also v little. She also showed some sign of coughing also. On mon, she start hving slight fever, on n off. Appetite loss was obvious. But drank alot of water. Especially "sticky" for hug hug. Went on for the next three days. Cough with phlegm also gettin thicker n thicker. Constipation prb also started... sigh....
We finally brought her to c GP on Thurs when she start refusing to eat even a spoon of her meal. survivin on few honey stars....
Xuan's phelgm is quite alot. Since she still too small, she wont know to cough the phelgm out. Only way is to let the phelgm come out from her poo. N bcos of the air in her stomach, she wont have appetite to eat. So not to worry too much if she dosent want to eat. Juz make sure that she has plenty of water. After taking the medicine, will take another 2-3 days to poo n get better. So at the moment can only hope she can poo faster as she had not poo for the past 3days.... the heat is still all "coped" up inside her..... =(

Xuan finally recover after a mth plus, two visit to GP and 10btls of medicine.

June 2010 Updates

GB have to go on a working trip for 3D2N in Msia. For the 1st day, being lazi, i took leave to as I didnt want to walk out to the bus stop to take the bus to MRT station. But since i wanted to spend the day spring cleaning the house, so GB drop Xuan off at inlaw place when on the way to the airport. N i fetched Xuan in the evening. For the next two days, i had a class at Bedok Central, so stil can carry n walk Xuan to my inlaws. But by the time i reach the class, bside slightly late, also all sweaty. =p As for Xuan, she sure dosent miss much her daddy... haha.. mayb bcos she been slightly more sticky to me for the past few months than GB.. On the third day, I brought Xuan to airport to wait for GB. Xuan was quite afraid of taking the bus, she refuse to sit on the empty seat bside me, only willing to sit on my lap while absorbing the surrounding environments with big curious eyes... when taking the MRT, she was frighten by the sound of the train passin by. But after i try to make it more animated by making actions n mimicking the sound of the train, she bcame v amused by it, n would be happily clapping n tryin to imitate the sound also.... when we reach the airport, she was busy touching here n there, goin here n there, acting cute while we wait at the gate. Although for the past 3 days, she didnt show any sign of missin her daddy. she sure was happy when GB came out of the gate.


GB always says bcos i took so many picture of Xuan, she is now trained to take pose. She really will strike a pose n hold still for few seconds while waiting for me to focus the cam. After hearing the "click" she will sometime walk over to me n peer into the screen to c the pic. Then she will point at the picture of her in the screen n keep saying "Xuan". While her mommy is v camera shy, my gal sure is not... =)


Make some Chao Siew Bao. From the meat to the skin. Tried using lean meat, but the meat jux dosent have taste even when the skin is nice... later i realise that making Chao Siew, must use meat with some fatty parts.... else the sauce juz dosent "enter" the meat.... as for the skin.... also a disaster.... i tried hand kneading... but apparently, lack of skill... the"can eat la", juz not delicious... sigh... but luckily Xuan was also aceptable to it. she ate 2 of it for her lunch. =)


GB's office had organise a movie session. Since it free n is a cartoon show, he finally agree to bring Xuan to watch her first movie. N it is the Toy Story 3!


I have not watch the earlier two serials as it dosent look interesting to me then. But this latest movie is really interesting n funny... Xuan enjoyed it also. Throughout the show, she was pretty well behaved while sitting on my lap. Although she was pretty active b4 the show started....

GB brought his parents to enjoy a ride at the Singapore Flyer. This was Xuan 3rd time. The previous two times, she wasnt able to walk yet. But this time, she was walkin about liao. Think my inlaws dun find it interestin either... But I was pretty upset by an accident that day. A very very rude customer service by the souvenir shop sales assistant really put me off. So even though i originally tot of going again with my parents, also can forget about it. No way, am I goin there again. Spending $100+ to go to be scold, stare at n b humilated?? Not a second chance!! I sure wont recommend anyone to go there.



Went to Marina Shopping Center after the Flyer. Xuan was tired n sat at the kiddy couch in John Little.

Fall flat on her face while walking back home. Sigh.... Tot she shld b steady in walkin liao, so walk infront n waited for her at a short distance infront of her.. was not in time to break her fall.. bside her forehead, her knee was also full of scratches.. seenin the big bruise n cut on her forehead made me feel so guilty for being so careless.... sob. Luckily, after applying cream daily, the bruise recovered within a wk.
