May 2009 little Updates

1st time pooin in the potty seat. It was pure luck that she decided to poo at home while playin in her room. She suddenly stopped playin n juz look at me without movin.. xcept that face has a "weird" look... immediately, i ck if she was pooin. once the peek reveal "browninsh" substance, i carried her to the ever ready prepared potty in the common toilet for her to finish the deed. End pdts ?? quite alot with her "pee pee" as bonus.... I think it fortunate that i placed her on the potty. Cos if i was puttin her in the changin table as usual, her pee wld hv dirtied herself n the whole place!! eukk....

Climbin up from the sofa to the high chair to get a "new toy".. - the lens cover for my Canon 450D... muah.... haha


2nd Batch of pacifier, bib, toys n hair clips. After the recent episode of night pukin, most of the pacifier clips from the first batch, hv to be thrown away as it reeks of the vomit smell. Thus decided to sit down n make another batch that will last for another period... keke.. lazy to make hair bows.. thus only make simple clips for this round...


We finally took a day off to celebrate our wedding anniversary. But we took a day off from work instead of leavin Xuan at inlaws place on the actual day. though Xuan was not with us, she was always on our mind. Our first stop was alrdy plannin to buy stuffs for her.....


Only after hv we settle her items, did we went to Marina to catch two movies.. the first movies since Xuan was borned!!! X-men origins; Wolverin & Night at the Museum. After the show, we went window shoppin awhile at the Mothercare... N we each bought a toy to "compensate" Xuan for "dumpin" her aside while we go "dating" ... hahahha guobin bought the bead maze, while i bought the butterfly teether.

Milk Powder Time

Finally started Xuan on Formula as the breastmilk stock in the freezer is runnin out soon. Tried Similac 1st. Verdict - taste like the BM after defrosting (with the metallic taste) n alot of bubbles formed when drinkin from it. Milk powder was also not dissolved totally easily... Still with these negative pts, Xuan was still able to take it without makin a fuss. From her daily 2 feeds of milk, the midnite milk feed was changed to FM. After a wk, 11 May 2009, both milk feeds (8am n 12am) were changed to FM. So far, there hasnt been any adverse effect.. Not too bad, my little girl not v fussy with milk choice. Duno to b happy or sad that she dosent missed her usual breastmilk feeds.. sigh....


After her 400g of Similac sample, we change to Enfagrow stage 3 A+. Verdict - Quite bland, taste like fresh BM without the sweetness only, milk powder easily dissolved, no bubbles formin issue as in Similac. Not too bad... Except that it quite expensive when compared to other brands... It cost a bomb if we stick to this....


So we start tryin the 3rd brand, Promil Gold. Verdict - Very sweet. taste juz like condensed milk. V milky n thick. We dun like it. Xuan also dosent seems to like it... She left much more than usual for her night feed. But her mornin feed, she was able to finish it all. Mayb she was too hungry to be fussy? But we stop givin her b4 this was finished as it was causing constipation problem.


A kind mommy from the forum had given a 900g tin to us as her son was takin another brand. Lucky for us. =p This contains the naturally active cultures of BL Bifidus that promotes healthy intestinal microflora. It helps to relieve constipations. Will replace Xuan night feed with this once her milk intake n timin has stabilise. =)


received the couple of sample packs too late.. =p cos we hv decided to let Xuan take Enfagrow when she start shpwing constipation while taking promil gold. =( Hv even bought 6tins of 1.8kg Enfagrow to get at a better price. Thus not possible to change to friso at this moment liao. =p

New Toys - Alphabets n Numbers Board

sigh... I juz cant help myself.... although Xuan has alot of toys.. but there always excuses that I made to justify my purchase.... opps...

But after playing awhile, the toys also faced the same fate.. Novelty is over, on to other toys....

May Babies Birthday Bash @ Harbourfront Gymboree

Brought Xuan to join the Birthday Bash for May 2008 Babies, organised by mommies from the forum thread. We had reserve to bring her to the big party. Cos for the gathering that we brought her to, when she was 6-7mths. she was totally scared of the new environment with so many new faces n babies. All along she had been the only baby in the family. She was rather "sheltered" n doted by us.... guilty guilty guilty.... Thus we hope to try another time since she has "grown up" liao.... This round she was better, although she stil didnt know how to or dare to interact with other babies. She was willing to sit there by herself with the rest of the babies crawlin/walkin ard her. Of cos, we were juz by her side... but at least it was a great improvement from a Koala bear to being able to sit there alone... She seem rather startled by her surrounding.. even when the babies ard her snatch her ball, she still blur blur sit there n look at them with curious n startled eyes.... like a startled deer actually... haha Hope there will be chance for us to bring her n mix with other babies in a much smaller groups... with lesser amt of new faces, mayb she would hv enjoyed herself more??? But still the event also let we c the progress of other babies of Xuan age... n of cos, to appreciate other cutie babies... hahaha

Zoo Outing - 12 May 09

To celebrate Xuan's Birthday, we decided to bring her to the zoo, as she has always expressed "excitment" over dogs, cats, birds, etc.... much to our amusement, she was pretty frightened by the environment, holding on very tightly to Jeff's T-shirt with BOTH hands.... haha It was only after 2 hrs (a afternoon nap n a short walkin at the zoo), did she start to relax and looks at the animals. She only shown interested at animals that are making noise AND movin abt... Stationary or "camouflage" animals r juz "backdrops"....

we reached at abt 12pm, left the zoo at 5+pm. minus the lunch hr n nap time, walked for abt 3+hrs. But we were so tired out from the walkin, carryin n entertaining Xuan. Most likely, the next time we b poppin by will b after xuan learn how to walk by herself very well enuf....

but on second tots, mayb we could bring back earlier to play at the Kidz rainforest that was unfornately close for cleanin when we went?? Mayb Xuan will be more interested in the small animals than those that r well far behind the cages???
